CAMPUS: A multisite SMART design R-01 study examining treatment using CAMS across four college counseling centers in the US
ASSIST: A multisite R-01 using CAMS-4Teens at two children's hospitals with adolescent samples, in collaboration with Dr. Molly Adrian at Seattle Children's Hospital
Keta-CAMS: A small sample adolescent sample trial examining the impact of therapeutic ketamine dosage and later CAMS treatment
San Diego VAMC Rapid Referral Study
PCORI Trial: A new multi-site trial where inpatients will be randomized to IV Ketamine or ECT
RCT of CAMS at the San Diego VAMC—Collaboration with Colin Depp (VA HSR&D grant)
Virtual CAMS for Suicidal Patients in the Emergency Department—Collaboration with the Evidence-Based Practice Institute (Linda Dimeff and Kelly Koerner) funded by NIMH (Phase II SBIR grant)
The Aftercare-Focused Study (AFS randomized controlled trial funded by AFSP)
Operation Worth Living (OWL) Project: We are conducting a Randomized Clinical Trial (RCT) at Fort Stewart, Georgia of CAMS, with active duty Army Soldiers who are suicidal. This is a large, multi-year RCT funded by the Department of Defense.
Process Improvement Projects with the Army: We participated in Process Improvement Projects at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas with the Warrior Resiliency Program (WRP) and leadership within the Army's Southern Regional Medical Command. At each location we are working to improve the behavioral health clinic's ability to identify, assess, treat, and track suicidal Soldiers.
Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial (SMART) of CAMS vs. TAU vs. DBT (NIMH R-34): with Jacque Pistorello at the University of Nevada—Reno
Oslo Norway RCT: study of crisis, outpatient, and inpatient samples
Mayo Dataset: In collaboration with our partners at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, we are analyzing an existing dataset of suicidal inpatients exploring potential differences in drivers of suicide across age and potential differences in acute versus chronically suicidal inpatients.
Denmark: A randomized clinical trial in Copenhagen comparing CAMS to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in suicidal outpatients. There are plans to implement use of CAMS in mental health clinics across all regions of Denmark.
Georgia Juvenile Justice Department: A study of using CAMS with suicidal juvenile offenders.
Machine Learning with OWL dataset: (Collaborator: Dr. Ronald Kessler at Harvard)
Menninger Dataset: Working in collaboration with our partners at the Menninger Clinic in Houston, TX, we are analyzing suicidal inpatients' quantitative and qualitative responses to questions on the Suicide Status Form (SSF), which is the primary clinical assessment and treatment tool used in the CAMS framework. We are also analyzing this data to identify risk factors unique to suicidal inpatients.
Fairfax Archival Dataset: Examining the treatment of severely mentally ill patients using CAMS via archival data from a state-facilitated crisis stabilization center's electronic medical record.
Collaboration with Appalachian State and Western Kentucky University: Use of CAMS in school settings
